ΒιΆΉΣ³» Services Launches the ΒιΆΉΣ³» Foundation, Donates $1 Million to Advance Community Investment Initiatives

By Alliant / May 02, 2023

IRVINE, CA β€” ΒιΆΉΣ³» Services has launched the ΒιΆΉΣ³» Foundation, a charitable, nonprofit organization focused on promoting justice and equality by expanding access to opportunities for career growth and advancement for individuals with diverse backgrounds and life experiences. To accompany the launch of the Foundation, Alliant has made a $1 million donation to help fund a range of community investment initiatives.

β€œThe ΒιΆΉΣ³» Foundation was established on the belief that diversity, equity, and inclusion is a powerful catalyst for success in our business, our industry, and the world around us,” said Tom Corbett, Chairman and CEO of Alliant. β€œBy promoting and cultivating a more diverse, more equitable society, we have the opportunity to make a profound and long-lasting impact on our company, our industry, and in the diverse communities where we operate.”

Focused on the intersection of community investment and diversity, equity, and inclusion, the ΒιΆΉΣ³» Foundation was founded with a twofold mission:

1. Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion by broadening access to career opportunities in the risk management and insurance industries.

2. Provide support and resources to diverse and underrepresented individuals who are interested in pursuing careers in these industries.

The Foundation operates through a multifaceted approach that includes sponsoring scholarships or grants, funding or operating outreach and educational programs, community investment, and coordinating efforts with nonprofit organizations with similar or related goals or missions, among other efforts. Since its formal inception, the Foundation has raised more than $2 million to support diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts in the insurance industry.

The Foundation is chaired by Lilian Vanvieldt, Alliant’s Executive Vice President and Chief Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer. Vanvieldt, who has more than 20 years of experience as a top producer with Alliant and a long history of community service and activism, will partner with the company’s executive team to direct the efforts of the Foundation.

β€œIn service of building a more diverse, more dynamic insurance industry, Alliant is dedicated to providing crucial resources and opportunities for up and-coming professionals from all backgrounds,” said Vanvieldt. β€œWe are focused on building the future of our industry.”

Among the Foundation’s various initiatives is a strategic partnership with Southern University and A&M College and the Louisiana Department of Insurance. The alliance, which formed in late 2021, has led to the development of a first-of-its-kind ΒιΆΉΣ³» and Insurance degree program at a historically black college or university (HBCU), funding for the Marino Casem Scholarship fund, and a robust, paid fellowship program.

The ΒιΆΉΣ³» Foundation is now fully operational as a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Additional information on the Foundation and its many efforts is available at .
